An Illustrative March
Hi! I am so happy you are reading this! One of my goals this year was to write a blog post once a month, tied to no specific day of the month. We are in our third month of doing this and I am so excited to get into what has been happening!
First things first, my last blog post I mentioned a big illustrative project coming up. While I have no directly announced it I have hinted at it in my most recent YouTube video “My Take: The Artistry Of Kevin Eastman & TMNT” - this video was so fun to produce, and while I could write much longer about how incredible it was to study Kevin and his work I would rather you check out the video, as that is the majority of the narrative! I will leave that write below this paragraph and I hope you enjoy checking it out!
Like I said before, I have a huge illustrative project I am working on at the moment and this will be my first time describing it in any sort of detail as a thank you to reading my blogs you are now “in the know”.
I mentioned in the video above that I am working on a series of five different dragons, each one of these will be portraits for each unique dragon as I am illustrating a fantasy card game! I can’t get into the specifics yet but the card game upon initial launch will have five different archetypes, each lead by one of the dragons. Each dragon will lead its archetype with unique characteristics and play styles. Now while I am illustrating everything on my own there is help on the end of game function, and when the time to release that information and introduce you to the people I am working with comes I will let you know; but for now, that is all I can say.
Below I will show the first dragon of the series (which you saw at the end of the video linked above surely) - I hope you enjoy having a closer more stationary look at it!
While I am not where I want to be, I look forward to continue learning and growing in the illustrative space. In just one illustrative piece I learned so much and had so much fun, and I hope you stick around to continue seeing the progress and eventually play the game I and others are putting so much work into!
While this is a shorter blog post just know I am hard at work, chasing my dream of being a full time artist and having fun along the way. The goal is to have each dragon done by the end of April, just in time to showcase them at summer art markets and upon completion of these dragons I will be releasing another YouTube video about how repetition and focus can elevate your art. We will see, it is much to early to be certain on how I will showcase these in a video format as they have yet to be created, I just know I will do something for it.
Thanks again for reading, feel free to reach out via my contact page and as always, thanks for hanging out.
