Fizzy Frank’s Elixir

Fizzy Frank’s Elixir was practice for designing for a real tangible product. Part of the assignment was using our name in the sodas branding so I chose to use my middle name Franklin! I also chose to illustrate a retro character inspired by 30’s and 40’s cartooning as well as using half tones as a design element not only for compositional reasons but also as a reference to screen printing which for many is also very retro. I wanted the type to be bold and also be inspired by the 30’s and 40’s. The whole process I really enjoyed, from measuring out the surface area of a soda bottle, narrowing down certain areas of interest, taking my own photos of my product, and just making sure I had fun with designing and illustrating. Overall it was super good practice as a designer, and really fun as an artist.
