Rise Above Research Conference

The Rise Above Research Conference is an event hosted at Milligan University for presenting various large scale projects and ideas that that students have worked on. This piece came from a class called Studio Media Agency, where students work on real world projects both for the school and outside the school. Not being the only student that did design for the event I was honored to have my design chosen. Having to illustrate around the theme “Bridges & Borders” without illustrating a bridge or border proved to be challenging. I decided to illustrate a scene where the bridge was an arm and people of different genders and races were crossing it thus breaking those bridges and borders. As far as the background I wanted a gradient that added to the illustration, and a blurred gradient made it so that you can’t pin point exactly where one color starts and another ends, thus adding to the theme.
